UNIT.City is a development in Kyiv, Ukraine that supports creative businesses, young startups and leading edge companies competing on the world stage. In 2019, UNIT.City and UDP commissioned British artist, Sebastian Kite, to transform a former industrial landmark into a permanent public artwork. The site was Kyiv’s newly developed center for technology and innovation, with the 60M high Beacon at its heart, broadcasting a vertical beam of light 3km into the sky.

Our Goal

To recreate Beacon as a digital artwork, generating 10,000 NFTs that can be auctioned to raise funds for the humanitarian crisis in Ukraine.

Format

Whilst there have been many public efforts to raise funds for Ukraine via creation of NFTs, we believe this still is the best commercial vehicle to generate urgent funds.

The Beacon was a symbol of innovation, we will explore new ways of encountering the artwork through this medium and reinvent the common understanding of the NFT artwork.

This will be an important piece, immortalising the architecture and district of Kyiv in which the Beacon inhabits, and the first NFT of a Ukrainian landmark and public artwork.

Officially Supporting
All proceeds generated from the NFT auction will be donated directly to the UNITED24 initiative launched by the President of Ukraine. 100% of funds will be transferred to the account of the National Bank of Ukraine and assigned to the relevant ministries of Ukraine responsible for rebuilding critical infrastructure.
